The True and Trusted PEN

PPAI (Promotional Products Association International) always has some great statistics and the most recent issue of their magazine included some interesting statistics about pens.  We often wonder whether or not that same old promotion is an effective one, after all, it can be boring handing out the same thing over and over again....but if it works, it works.  Here are some of the statistics that can help you decide whether or not to do that next pen promotion.

  • 73% of people surveyed stated that they ALWAYS carry a writing instrument with them.
  • Nearly 92% of car owners keep one or two pens in their car.
  • 83% of people surveyed are more likely to keep a promotional pen if it is a ballpoint.
  • 50% of people surveyed like free promotional pens and always pick up a promotional pen when given away.

We all know how pens can travel around from person to person through your office, and then walk out the door.  Who knows where it will go next, who will see your logo in their hand.  Because pens have the tendency to change ownership, it is a very effective promotional product for reaching more than just your immediately intended audience.
